Sale is situated mid way between the large centres of Traralgon and Bairnsdale.  It has an immediate population of approximately 14,000 (yet some 40,000 across the Wellington Shire region) with an attractive commercial centre boasting several historic buildings of interest.  Sale became a major river port in 1890 following the construction of a beautiful man-made canal linking the town centre with the Gippsland Lakes.

East Sale is home to the Royal Australian Air Force base, best known for its specialist flying and aerobatic school.  The Sale community is both commercially progressive and family orientated, boasting excellent local schools and sporting facilities.
