Bairnsdale is one of the largest cities in the East Gippsland region with an immediate population of approximately 12,000 (yet some 40,000 across the East Gippsland region).  It is situated on the Mitchell River which flows into the extensive Gippsland Lakes.  The large and busy commercial centre is built around the highway which opens up into a wide boulevard featuring trees, gardens and a rotunda in the central strip.

Bairnsdale is at the southern end of the Great Dividing Range with ascending access to the Snowy Mountains and Mt Hotham ski resort.  Diverse residential options include a 10 minute drive to Paynesville, the boating capital of Victoria.  It is also just a short 40kms to the popular holiday destination of Lakes Entrance, boasting beautiful beaches and a popular café environment.

The Bairnsdale community is progressive and thriving, with excellent commercial, schooling and sporting facilities.
