WHK Supports Simpson Crossing Challenge
WHK Bathurst dug deep to support client, Doug Watson when he approached the firm to raise funds for Youngcare - a full time care facility for young Australians.
Tragically, Doug's son Jock has been in aged care for the last 7 years following a car accident that left him with a serious head injury. The family is actively assisting with fundraising efforts to build a much-needed facility in Sydney that caters exclusively for young Australians with full-time care needs - many of whom currently live in aged care.
One of these fundraising initiatives involves, Jock's brothers, Tom and Gus crossing the Simpson Desert on foot in June 2011 - 12 days, 320km, 1000 sand dunes and 15kg back packs.
WHK Bathurst staff - a number of whom attended school with Jock and who have a strong personal connection to the cause, have donated $519 in support of the fundraising efforts.
The WHK team is wholeheartedly behind Tom & Gus as they achieve a feat only a handful of people have taken on before. www.youngcare.com.au/gus_tom
